Simply leave out the 4th and 7th degrees of the major scale and you have the major pentatonic scale which gives it a prettier sound then the minor pentatonic. You can have lots of fun with this scale scale and is great for country, blues and gospel music. It has a prettier sound then the bluesy minor pentatonic scale but the combination of the two can be really cool. The longer skips of a T+S (3 frets) when you drag the slide from the 3rd to the 5th or the 6th to the root bring a real vocal quality to the sound, quite common with gospel singers.
